Tudor, Antony (1908–1987)

English choreographer, dancer, and teacher. He introduced psychological drama into ballet. His first works were for the Rambert company (for example, Lilac Garden 1936). He was one of the founding choreographers for the American Ballet Theater 1940 and created several works for it, including Pillar of Fire 1942, Romeo and Juliet 1943, and The Tiller in the Fields 1978.
