Turnberry

Village in South Ayrshire unitary authority, Scotland, situated on the Firth of Clyde, 10 km/6 mi north of Girvan. Two championship golf courses are located on its outskirts. The ruins of Turnberry Castle, reputedly the birthplace of Robert (I) the Bruce, stand near the coast. The remains of Crossraguel Abbey also lie nearby.
