Turner Valley
| Town in southwestern Alberta, Canada, on the Sheep River, across from Black Diamond, and 45 km/28 mi southwest of Calgary; population (1991) 1,400. The economy depends on petroleum services and tourism. |
| Settled around 1900, it was the site of the discovery, in 1914, of the first major gas and oil field in Alberta, which led to a 30-year boom. By World War II, however, the fields had been depleted. |
