No references found | The earthquake, which struck at 2:47 am (1247 GMT Tuesday), was centred 134 kilometres (80 miles) northeast of the capital Nuku'alofa, the USGS said. The depressions were detected by the USGS Astrogeology Science Center using high-resolution images conveyed through Mars-orbiting satellites. The USGS report said the epicentre of the quakes was in Hindukush Region of Afghanistan, some 281 kilometres (175 miles) west of Islamabad and 90 km (55 miles) east-south-east of Kabul. |
