The three friends are taking part in the Mongol Rally from London to Ulaanbataar in Mongolia and have chosen a 650cc Subaru Sambar microvan as their preferred mode of transport. It was also agreed that human security be selected as a topic for the UNDP-supported national Human Development Report in 2002, and that a conference on regional security issues be held in 2001 in Ulaanbataar. The Government of Mongolia and the World Bank have invited a number of major stakeholders in Mongolia's mining industry, including Ivanhoe Mines, to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative International Conference, which is scheduled to be held in Ulaanbataar on December 2, 2005. |
