Ullmann, Liv Johanne (1938– )

Norwegian actor and director. She has often worked with the Swedish director Ingmar Bergman. Her films include Persona (1966), Pope Joan (1972), Lost Horizon (1972), Abdication (1974), Autumn Sonata (1978), La diagonale du fou/Dangerous Moves (1984), and The Rose Garden (1989). She directed her first film, Sophie, in 1992, and went on to direct Kristin Lavransdatter (1995) and Lumière et compagnie/Lumière and Company (1995), and Trolösa/Faithless (2000).
