Uphall

Village in West Lothian unitary authority, Scotland, situated on Brox Burn, 2 km/1 mi northeast of Livingstone. Its industry was formerly based on local oil-shale mining, and an associated paraffin refinery.

Uphall's medieval church, built during the 12th and 13th centuries, contains the grave of former Lord Chancellor Thomas Erskine.
