apomorphine

(C17H17NO2), an emetic derived from morphine by treatment with strong acids; it has a far stronger emetic action than morphine but, since it may cause restlessness, tremor, and mental depression, it is rarely used.

Attempts have been made to treat alcoholism by giving apomorphine immediately after alcohol.
