Vázquez, Juan

Vázquez, Juan (c. 1510–c. 1560)

Spanish composer. He was maestro di cappella at Badajoz Cathedral 1545–50, and was later in the service of Don Antonio de Zuñiga. He was an important exponent of the Spanish song form known as the villancico, and also wrote church music.
