Véronique

Operetta by André Messager (libretto by A Vanloo and G Duval), produced at the Bouffes Parisiens, Paris, on 10 December 1898. In the story, Hélène, disguised as the shopgirl Véronique, meets the man she has arranged to marry, the Viscount Florestan. He falls in love with ‘Véronique’ and is shocked to meet her as Hélène at the altar, but nevertheless there is a happy ending.
