Vaduva, Leontina (1960- )

Romanian soprano. She studied at the Bucharest Conservatory and made her debut at Toulouse in 1987, as Manon. She repeated the role in 1988 at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, to which she has returned as Gilda, Micaela, Antonia, and Juliette (1994). She has sung in Paris as Ninetta in La Gazza Ladra, Monteverdi's Drusilla, and Ismene in Mitridate. Other roles include Leila and Adina (at Toulouse), Norina in Don Pasquale, Susanna, and Mimi. She is noted for her beautiful voice and appealing stage presence. She has also sung at Bordeaux, Barcelona, and the Vienna Staatsoper.
