Waldemar IV (1320–1375)

King of Denmark from 1340, responsible for reuniting his country by capturing Skåne (southern Sweden) and the island of Gotland in 1361. However, the resulting conflict with the Hanseatic League led to defeat by them, and in 1370 he was forced to submit to the Peace of Stralsund.
