Valdengo, Giuseppe (1914– )

Italian baritone. He studied in Turin, making his debut in Parma in 1936. He is best known for his recorded performance of Verdi's Iago (Otello, 1947) and Falstaff (1950) under Toscanini; he also recorded Amonasro (Aïda, 1949). He appeared at Glyndebourne in 1955 as Don Giovanni and Raimbaud (Rossini, Le Comte Ory).
