Valentini, Pier Francesco (c. 1570–1654)

Italian composer. He was a pupil of Giovanni Maria Nanino in Rome. He was best known for music involving elaborate counterpoint, for example his canon for 96 voices.

Sacred and secular music

motets, litanies, and other church music; Canzonetti spirituali and Musiche spirituali for the Nativity; madrigals and canons; canzoni and arias for one–two voices.
