Valhalla

In Norse mythology, the golden hall in Odin's palace in Asgard, where he feasted with the souls of half those heroes killed in battle (valr) chosen by his female attendants, the Valkyries; the remainder celebrated in Sessrumnir with Freya, goddess of love and war.

The hall was roofed with shields and had 540 doors, each wide enough to admit 800 warriors side by side. At dawn they would stream from Valhalla to fight, returning at dusk to their nightly banquet where they were served food, beer, and hydromel (a fermented beverage of honey and water) by the Valkyries.

It was believed that they they would support Odin against the giants at Ragnarök, the final battle between the gods and forces of evil.
