Vanbrugh, Irene (married name Boucicault) (1872–1949)

English actor. Among numerous other parts, she played Rosalind in J M Barrie's play of that name, Agnes Ebbsmith in The Notorious Mrs Ebbsmith, Paula in The Second Mrs Tanqueray, and Nina in His House in Order, all by Arthur Pinero. Her sister Violet Vanbrugh was also an actor.

The Vanbrugh Theatre at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London, was named in honour of Irene and Violet Vanbrugh by their brother Kenneth Barnes (1878–1957), who was principal 1909–55.
