Vanessa

Opera by Samuel Barber (libretto by Menotti), produced at the Metropolitan Opera, New York, on 15 January 1958. In the story, Vanessa marries Anatol, son of her former lover by the same name, in spite of the fact that her niece Erika is pregnant by him.
