Vanier

Town in the Ottawa-Carleton Regional Municipality, southeast Ontario, Canada; population (1991) 18,200. It is situated on the Rideau River, and is surrounded by the city of Ottawa. Vanier, formerly known as Eastview, is a largely residential suburb 3 km/2 mi northeast of Ottawa city centre, with some government and other offices.

Town in the Québec Urban Community, south Québec, Canada; population (1991) 10,833. It is situated across the River Saint-Charles from the centre of Québec City. It is a residential and commercial community.
