Vanni, Andrea (1332-1414)

Italian painter. He was a follower of Simone Martini. Employed on ambassadorial missions, he visited and worked in Rome, Naples, and Avignon. He corresponded with the religious mystic Catherine of Siena and painted her portrait. Works by him are in Siena and a triptych by him is in the Corcoran Gallery, Washington, DC.
