Variations on a Theme by Haydn

Set of variations by Johannes Brahms for orchestra, Op. 56a, or for two pianos, Op. 56b, on a theme called the St Anthony Chorale from a Divertimento for wind instruments, attributed formerly to Joseph Haydn, where it is also treated in variation form. The first performance of the orchestral version took place in Vienna, Austria, on 2 November 1873.
