vegetation

Plant life of a particular area, such as shrubs, trees, and grasses. The type of vegetation depends on the soil, which may become impoverished by deforestation; climate, especially the amount of moisture available and the possibility of frost, since these factors influence the types of vegetation that can survive; and human activity, such as overgrazing or the destruction of grasslands.
