Vejzovic, Dunja (1943– )

Croatian mezzo-soprano. She sang first at Zagreb, and then Frankfurt from 1978. She has been heard most often as Wagner's Kundry: at Bayreuth (1978), the Salzburg Easter Festival (recorded with Karajan), the Metropolitan Opera House New York, and Houston (1992). She was admired for her dramatic conviction as Venus (La Scala), Ortrud (Paris and Vienna), Massenet's Hérodiade and Chimène (Le Cid), and Senta.
