Viaggio a Reims, Il, ossia L'albergo del giglio d'oro

Opera by Rossini (libretto by G L Balochi), produced at the Théâtre-Italien, Paris, on 19 June 1825. The opera failed but the music was largely re-used in Le Comte Ory (1828). Assorted national types including Lord Sidney, Don Profondo and Belfiore are delayed at the inn of Madame Cortese on way to a coronation at Rheims.
