Victoriaville

Town in south Québec, Canada; population (1991) 21,500. It is located 137 km/85 mi east-northeast of Montréal and 43 km/27 mi east-northeast of Drummondville, on the River Nicolet, in the Notre Dame Mountains. Agricultural machinery, furniture, sporting goods, clothing, and foundry products are among local manufactures; the town is also the service and processing centre for a mixed farming region. It is home to the bilingual Collège de Victoriaville (1872).
