Telephone allowing the sending and receiving of pictures as well as speech. In October 2001, the world's first commercial videophone service was launched in Japan as part of NNT DoCoMo's 3G service.

ASUS videophones enables people to make and receive free voice and video calls to any Skype user without requiring a computer, with its feature On2 VP7 video, including the Eee Videophone AiGuru SV1 allows users to make and receive calls to and from fixed and mobile lines at very low rates.
Videophones can also be used to make normal voice-only calls.
I recently purchased several Packet8 videophones for the advertising agency I work for.
