Vidor

Town in Orange County, east Texas; population (1990) 10,900. It is located 11 km/7 mi northeast of Beaumont. It is a residential and industrial (steel) suburb in the Piney Woods. Vidor was in the national spotlight in the early 1990s as the Federal government attempted to integrate its housing. It has a history of Ku Klux Klan activity.
