Vierjährige Posten, Der

Comic opera by Schubert (libretto by T Körner). Composed in 1815, it was never performed in Schubert's lifetime but was produced at the Dresden Opera on 23 September 1896. The story is about an abandoned French soldier who is in trouble for desertion with returning army, after a four-year dalliance with village girl.
