Vinzing, Ute (1936– )

German soprano. She studied with Martha Mödl and made her debut at Lübeck in 1967, as Marenka. She sang at Wuppertal (1971–76) and throughout Europe as Kundry, Isolde, and Leonora. She appeared in Seattle as Brünnhilde (1975–84), and made her New York debut at the Metropolitan Opera House in 1984, as Elektra. She sang the Dyer's Wife in Sawallisch's recording of Die Frau ohne Schatten/The Woman Without a Shadow.
