Vlasov, Andrey Andreyevich (1900–1946)

Soviet general in World War II. He was captured by the Germans May 1942 and, feeling he had been badly treated by Stalin, began making anti-Soviet broadcasts for the Germans. In November 1944 he began forming a ‘Russian Liberation Army’ from disaffected prisoners-of-war. He was captured by the Soviets May 1945 and executed for treason.
