Vogt, Lars

Vogt, Lars (1970– )

German pianist. He studied in Hanover and played throughout Germany before winning second prize at the 1990 Leeds International Piano Competition, playing the Schumann Concerto. He has played in the UK with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Northern Sinfonia and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He made his US debut in 1991, with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra in Beethoven's 4th Concerto; in 1993 he toured with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra. He is noted for a virtuoso technique combined with the feeling of a musician.
