Vom Fischer un syner Fru

Dramatic cantata by Schoeck (libretto by composer, after Philipp Otto Runge, after Grimm) Composed 1928-30, it was produced at the Staatsoper in Dresden on 3 October 1930 and conducted by Busch. In the story, a Fisherman catches a turbot which turns out to be a prince under a spell. The Fisher's wife expects a series of wishes to be fulfilled.
