Von Hagen, Victor Wolfgang (1908– )

US naturalist, explorer, and ethnographer. He discovered live quetzals in Honduras 1937–38, studied the fauna of the Galapagos Islands 1936–63, and led expeditions along the Inca Highway 1953–55 and the Royal Persian Road 1973–75. His popular books include Jungle in the Clouds (1940). He was born in St Louis, Missouri.
