Voz (or Vos), Laurent de (1533–1580)

Flemish composer. He worked at Antwerp Cathedral and was appointed music director and choirmaster at Cambrai Cathedral by the archbishop Louis de Berlaymont. When the latter's place was usurped by Baron d'Inchy, Voz composed a motet compiled from words from the Psalms in such a way as to attack Inchy, who had Voz hanged without trial. He was the brother of the painter Marten de Vos.
