Vrindavan

In Hindu tradition, the village on the Ganges where the Hindu god Krishna is said to have been born. It is a place of pilgrimage for Hindus.

It is situated about 50 kilometers on the northern portion of Agra and about 150 kilometers to the south portion of Delhi as well as approximately 20 kilometers from the Vrindavana.
The focus shifted to the geographic region of Mathura, the Yamuna river and the hill of Govardhan, and the forest of Vrindavana, a construct where Krishna experiences pleasure and delight, where he dances and conducts amorous relations with the gopis of Braj, including his beloved Radha.
This same pattern of a heterodox heterosexuality and an orthodox homoeroticism is also seen in the case of Bengali Vaishnavism, where the ultimate goal is to share in the bliss of Krishna's love play with Radha in Vrindavana.
