Wabush

Town in southwest Labrador, Canada; population (1991) 2,300. It is situated on Jean Lake, near the Québec state border. The town and neighbouring Labrador City had their beginnings in the late 1950s as mining camps linked to the large iron-ore deposits in the nearby Wapussakatoo Mountains.
