Wacha Dinshaw Edulji (1844–1936)

Indian politician. A member of the Bombay legislative council and the Imperial legislative council, he worked for the peaceful development of his country through social reform, education, and through participation in politics. A founder member of the Congress party, he was its president in 1901. He criticized the British government's economic and financial policies and freely expressed his nation's viewpoint before the Welby Commission in London.
