Wagner-Régeny, Rudolf (1903–1969)

German composer of Romanian descent. He studied at Leipzig and Berlin. He was a political chameleon, finding success under both Nazi and Communist régimes in Germany.

Moschopulos (1928), Sganarelle (after Molière, 1929), Der nackte König (1930), Esau und Jakob (1930), La Sainte Courtisane (1930), Günstling (1935), Die Bürger von Calais (after Froissart, 1939), and Das Bergwerk zu Falun (after Hoffmannsthal, 1961).

Other works

ballet Der zerbrochene Krug (after Kleist's comedy, 1937); vocal and instrumental pieces.
