Waldemar the Conqueror

Waldemar (II) the Conqueror (1170–1241)

King of Denmark from 1202. He was the second son of Waldemar the Great and succeeded his brother Canute VI. He gained control of land north of the River Elbe (which he later lost), as well as much of Estonia, and he completed the codification of Danish law.
