Walden, Brian

    0.01 sec.

Walden, (Alastair) Brian (1932– )

English journalist and current affairs broadcaster. A Labour member of Parliament 1964–77, he became disillusioned with party politics and cut short his parliamentary career to present the current-affairs television programme Weekend World. His direct and uninhibited style of interviewing public figures has earned him the reputation of being one of the UK's toughest political interviewers. He also contributes to the Sunday Times and Evening Standard newspapers.

Walden was a university lecturer before entering Parliament, representing the Birmingham constituencies of All Saints and then Ladywood.
