Waldsterben
Tree decline related to air pollution, common throughout the industrialized world. It appears to be caused by a mixture of pollutants; the precise chemical mix varies between locations, but it includes acid rain, ozone, sulphur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides.
Waldsterben was first noticed in the Black Forest of Germany during the late 1970s, and is spreading to many countries in the developing world, such as China.
