Walthamstow

Residential and industrial suburb of London, England; part of the Greater London borough of Waltham Forest. It stands on the left bank of the River Lea and includes part of Epping Forest. There are plastics and light-engineering industries. The designer and poet William Morris was born here.

Byline: Jim Cremin AFASCINATING freeentry exhibition of pictures by Katherine Green, 'Going To The Dogs', on the final weeks of racing at Walthamstow, is being staged at the council-owned Vestry House Museum, Vestry Road, Walthamstow - a short walk from Walthamstow Central station.
Walthamstow dog track - which has hosted everyone from Sir Winston Churchill to Brad Pitt - has been sold to housing developers.
Portraits of all 1,000 are being displayed this week in Walthamstow town square on a wall six feet high and 120 feet long.
