Warner, Edward (Pearson) (1894-1958)

US aeronautical engineer and international civil servant. He taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1920-26), where he influenced aeronautic pioneers. As assistant secretary of the navy for aeronautics (1926-29), he assisted the growth of US aviation. He was editor of Aviation (1929-34), an adviser to the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), and head of the International Civil Aviation Organization (1947-57). Warner was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
