Warrack, Guy (Douglas Hamilton) (1900-1986)

Scottish composer and conductor. He studied at Oxford and with Boult and Vaughan Williams at the Royal College of Music and taught there 1925-35. He made his debut as conductor in London, in 1925, and conducted the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Scottish Orchestra 1936-45 and the Sadler's Wells Ballet 1948-51. He wrote music for various documentary films, including the official film of the 1953 coronation.
