Warrack, Guy (Douglas Hamilton) (1900–1986)

Scottish composer and conductor. He studied at Oxford and with Boult and Vaughan Williams at the Royal College of Music and taught there 1925–35. He made his debut as conductor in London, in 1925, and conducted the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Scottish Orchestra 1936–45 and the Sadler's Wells Ballet 1948–51. He wrote music for various documentary films, including the official film of the 1953 coronation.
