Warrensburg

Town and administrative headquarters of Johnson County, west-central Missouri; population (1990) 15,200. It is located 80 km/50 mi southeast of Kansas City. Warrensburg is a trade and processing centre for a livestock, dairy, agricultural, and coal mining region. Manufactures include clothing, electronic components, lawnmowers, and shoes. The town is home to Central Missouri State College (1871). Nearby are the Blackwater River and Whiteman Air Force Base.
