Warwick

Town in Kent County, east-central Rhode Island; population (1990) 85,400. It is situated on the Pawtuxet River and the west shore of Narragansett Bay, 16 km/10 mi south of Providence. It has some light industry, producing jewellery, silverware, metals, and machinery. Rocky Point, one of New England's oldest sea resorts, is one of several along Warwick's shoreline. T F Green Airport, serving the Providence area, is in Warwick.
