Warwick, Richard Neville, 1st or 16th Earl of Warwick (1428–1471)English politician, called the Kingmaker. During the Wars of the Roses he fought at first on the Yorkist side against the Lancastrians, and was largely responsible for placing Edward IV on the throne. Having quarrelled with him, he restored Henry VI in 1470, but was defeated and killed by Edward at Barnet, Hertfordshire. He was made an earl in 1449. How to thank TFD for its existence?
