Wasdale

Valley in Cumbria, northwest England, southwest of Keswick, in the Lake District. The valley includes Wastwater Lake, the deepest English lake, 5 km/3 mi long with high screes lining its southeastern side.

The upper part of the valley has a few farms and the hamlet of Wasdale Head, a centre for climbing Scafell Pike. Tracks from Wasdale Head also lead towards Great Gable (899 m/2,949 ft) and other Lake District mountains.
