Waseca

Town and administrative headquarters of Waseca County, south Minnesota; population (1990) 8,400. It is located 24 km/15 mi west of Owatonna, amid small lakes in a wheat growing area. Established in the 1860s, it processes local agricultural products, has a tourist industry, and is home to a University of Minnesota agricultural branch.
