Wasserstein, Bruce

Wasserstein, Bruce (1947– )

US investment banker. A graduate of the University of Michigan (1967) and Harvard Business School (1971), he joined the First Boston Corp in 1977, rising to managing director and becoming, with colleague Joseph Perella, a noted leveraged buyout specialist. He and Perella formed their own firm, Wasserstein, Perella & Co., in 1988. He is the author of Corporate Finance Law. Wasserstein was born in New York City. He is the brother of Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein.
